05th May 2026 via Zoom - 09.30am to 11.00am
This webinar is offered on a donation basis.
In this webinar, Dr Hayley D Quinn will introduce participants to her debut book, From Self-Neglect to Self-Compassion: A Compassionate Guide to Creating a Thriving Life.
As well as hearing a presentation by the author, webinar participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and to interact with some of the book’s key ideas and themes. Participants will be invited to explore how self-neglect shows up in their own lives, the risks this has for burnout and how cultivating a more compassionate relationship with themselves can be the antidote to this.
Participants will be introduced to the book’s core framework that starts with acknowledging where you are, rather than where you think you “should” be; exploring the possibilities and the dreams that have been set aside; learning to do things differently including boundary setting, learning to say no to others in order to say yes to self, and recognising rest and replenishment as an essential component to wellbeing; and finally finding your new way of being. A way that suits who you are and how your own brain works best, rather than continuing to squeeze yourself into a way of living that depletes you and keeps you from living a life that would allow you to truly thrive.
This framework provides the reader with a gentle, supportive way to move forward. One that helps them first understand themselves better, so they take action on things that are more likely to work for them, instead of jumping feet first into a prescriptive set of generic new rules.
Participants will be invited to reflect on their own experiences and have the opportunity to participate in a guided meditation led by the author.
You can buy a copy of her book here, and we also recommend her podcast Welcome to Self.
