These terms and conditions together with our privacy policy govern your use of our website as well as events, discussion list and other services we provide; by using our website and/or services, you accept these terms in full. If you disagree with these terms or any parts, you must not use our website or services.

The contents of the pages of this website are for your general information and use only. It is subject to change without notice.

(1) Terms of sale

By placing an order, you are offering to purchase a product on and subject to the following terms and conditions. All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price.

Pricing and availability

Whilst we try and ensure that all details, descriptions and prices which appear on this website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of any goods which you have ordered, we will inform you of this as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it.

Payment

In order to make a purchase on our website, you must have a valid credit or debit card issued by a bank acceptable to us. We use Memberstack and Stripe to handle our membership registration and purchases- please refer to their respective terms of service and privacy policy for further info. We use Eventbrite to handle online event registration and payment – please refer to their terms of service and privacy policy for further info. The Compassionate Mind Foundation retains the right to refuse any request made by you. If your order is accepted, you will receive an order confirmation by email. When placing an order, you undertake that all details you provide to us are true and accurate, that you are an authorised user of the credit or debit card used to place your order and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods. The cost of products and services from international accounts may fluctuate. All prices advertised are subject to such changes.

Confirmation

When you place an order, you will receive an acknowledgement e-mail confirming receipt of your order.

All places booked for our events must be paid for prior to attending unless pre-agreed with management. Please note that we cannot confirm your place until we have received payment.

We will confirm the final details of any events 5-7 days before the start date.

General

For all face-to-face events, lunch provided at the event will be vegetarian and will include eggs, but no meat or fish (though vegan options will also be made available). However, please advise us of any dietary requirements in the notes section whilst booking online and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Cancellation

Should you be unable to attend the event, please contact our admin team as soon as possible via hello@compassionatemind.co.uk. Refunds, less the Eventbrite administration fee, will be made if cancellations are received in writing up to one month before the event. Any cancellations received after this time will not be eligible for a refund, although we will consider exceptional circumstances.  While refunds for failure to attend cannot be made, you can transfer your event fee to a future event that will take place within 12 months of your booking without an additional penalty.

Please note that information about the event and venue are subject to change and cancellation. Occasionally, an event may have to be cancelled or postponed.  We will try and inform of any changes and cancellations as soon as possible via email.  We cannot be held responsible for any resulting costs you may incur for travel, accommodation, any other related goods or service or other compensation.

(2) Licence to use website, documents or other material downloadable from the website, events or any other services.

Unless otherwise stated, we or our licensors own the intellectual property rights on the website, events, services and material on and available for download from the website and for our events and services.  This material includes, but is not limited to, the design, layout, look, appearance and graphics. Subject to the licence below, all these intellectual property rights are reserved.

You may view, and where permitted download documents and other electronic files which are specifically offered from the website, events and any other services for your own personal use, subject to the restrictions set out below and elsewhere.

Without prior permission in writing, you must not:

(a) republish material (including republication on another website);

(b) sell, rent or sub-licence material;

(c) reproduce, duplicate, copy or otherwise exploit material for commercial purposes;

(d) edit or otherwise modify any material; or

You must not use our website or services to transmit or send unsolicited commercial communications.

Access to certain areas of our website is restricted.  We reserve the right to restrict access to other areas of our website, or indeed our whole website, at our discretion.

If we provide you with log in details (i.e. password) to enable you to access restricted areas of our website or other content or services, you must ensure that these details are kept confidential.

You must notify us in writing/email immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or password.

You are responsible for any activity on our website arising out of any failure to keep your password confidential and may be held liable for any losses arising from this.

We may disable your log in details at our discretion without notice or explanation.

In these terms and conditions, “your user content” means material (including without limitation text, images, audio material, video material and audio-visual material) that you submit to our website, for whatever purpose such as the research register.

You grant to us a worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate and distribute your user content in any existing or future media.  You also grant to us the right to sub-license these rights, and the right to bring an action for infringement of these rights.

You warrant and represent that your user content will comply with these terms and conditions.

You should note however that the Foundation does not give any warranty that any information will be accurate or up-to-date and the user acknowledges that the information and services offered is offered on an "as is" basis. Any opinions, views, reviews and/or knowledge submitted and published on this website, events or services by any individual user are their own and do not necessarily represent the views, opinions, knowledge and, position of the Foundation.

Whilst we do take reasonable precautions to prevent the occurrence of computer viruses and/or other malicious programmes, we do not guarantee that they will not be present and you should take reasonable precautions against them yourself.

We make no representations about the suitability of the information and services contained on, or accessed via, the website, events or services for any purpose.  Information contained in, or accessible via, the website, events or services changes on a regular basis. We may make improvements or alterations at any time and without notice. From time to time, this website may also include links to other websites. These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with English law, and any disputes relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
