What we do

One of the main aims of the Foundation is to develop the scientific understanding and application of compassion. We support research of an evolution biopsychosocial informed compassion focused approach to human difficulties.

We achieve this aim by conducting process and outcome led research, liaising with those with specific interests in the study of compassion and its underlying processes, and facilitate communication and interchange between researchers.

Our team and key collaborators across the world have conducted in several research areas

Research Funding

We are a charitable organisation and rely on the generous support of individuals and organisations. This support enables us to expand our research efforts, further develop our global network, and extend the reach and impact of our work.

Over the years, we have been able to support a number of projects and delighted to announce that we will have a small fund available for research soon and will be welcoming applications.

Scales

Prof Gilbert and colleagues have developed a number of scales including the Compassionate Engagement and Actions, Fears of Compassion, Functions of Self-Criticising/Attacking scales and many more.

We are delighted to have a growing number of translations and all the scales are free to use with permission for research and other purposes.
